Field Search Member
Join a ground, water, or wilderness unit, train to national SAR standards, and respond to real search emergencies across the region.
K9 Handler
Work alongside a search dog in air-scent, trailing, or recovery — a serious commitment and an extraordinary partnership.
Support & Logistics
Not every role is in the field. Help with communications, transport, fundraising, administration, and event support.

Training, Teamwork, and Commitment
Membership with NESAR is a real commitment. Our members train year-round, meet or exceed national search-and-rescue standards, and stand ready 24/7/365. New members are welcomed through an application and orientation, then trained and mentored by experienced teammates. You do not need prior experience to begin — just dedication, physical readiness, and a willingness to learn.
